M-W Archive
Unknown artist, possibly Fabrizio or Gaspare Galliari, Stage Design, late 18th century
The M-W Archive of Theater, Performance and Ephemeral Architecture was founded in 2019 for studies on aspects of culture that were never meant to last. Our main goals are to collect and make available images of works by long forgotten artists, designers and architects in order to facilitate research and unite scholarship. The archive contains images concerning set and costume design, theater architecture and festival and event design as well as forms of ephemeral constructions including triumphal arches and catafalques. We are currently working to further build and digitize the collection. For more information, to inquire about works in the collection, or to support us please email alexander.mccargar (at) gmail.com or david.wagner (at) univie.ac.at. Please do not use images without prior consent. High-res images available upon request.
